LAST SHOW OF THE YEAR

Updated: 4 days ago

Saturday saw the last show of the season at the Hereford Cattle Breeders Association - HCBA Christmas Calf Show.

Our team had a new look to previous calf shows as young bulls Baz is now working with heifers and Bond is heading to Stirling Sales in February.

So we had an all female team and a new star was born on Saturday…

Moralee 1 Pippa TE347

Moralee 1 Pippa TE347 - 1st in March/April 24 heifer class and then Reserve Junior Female Champion.

This heifer was still in the field with her mother just three weeks ago and had never had a halter on! It was one of Dis bright ideas to add her to the show team last minute!

Her dam is Moralee 1 Pippa S16 a daughter of our original Coley 1 Pippa 356 by Moralee 1 Panda (Moralee 1 Kylie /SMH Kingsize).

The sire of the heifer is Dendor 1 Tecwyn, a bull that was purchased at Shrewsbury Sale by Di in 2021 - he has a produced an amazing string of bulls and heifers this spring…with another daughter selling for 7,100 Guineas in Designer Genes Sale on Friday evening.

This Pippa has the usual “Pippa style” and extreme width and this surprise new star excites us greatly for next summer!

Moralee 1 Kylie DC314 ended the calf show season with another good result…2nd in a very strong class of September/October 2023 heifers. Another show prospect for next year and her full sibling embryos sold for 700 Guineas in the Designer Genes Sale

The baby of the team another Moralee 1 Kylie PR354 was 5th in her class.

Thank you to HCBA and Shrewsbury Market for a fantastic show as ever.

So there it is show season 2024 done some good sale prices some amazing memories made and some good times had.  More exciting times in 2025

But actually only a matter of weeks until Stirling bull sales when it all starts again
