Northumberland County Show Facebook PR:
The joy of the winners of our JS Hubbucks Champion of Champions!
The JS Hubbuck Champion of Champions winner was a magnificent Hereford Bull called “Moralee 1 Rebel Kicks” owned by Thomas and Diane Harrison of Mickley. The judge was David Tennant of Royal Highland Show, who was very impressed witht the quality of livestock yesterday.
Tommy and Di Harrison are longstanding competitors at Northumberland County Show, and have been involved in the Show for many years in a variety of posts. They have an amazing herd of pedigree Herefords, and despite this being their local show, have never won this prize before in the Thomas Sherriff Cattle Section.
Rebel Kicks had an amazingly successful year in 2021 and won accolades across the country. but after so much attention, Tommy and Di retired him from showing. Sadly that year the Northumberland County Show did not run due to the Covid pandemic so he had never had his moment in the spotlight here.
According to Di, “Rebel Kicks had looked very well after overwintering inside, and we thought we might give him one more chance in the ring, and so this is amazing.” Tommy was visibly moved, and said, “This is just the icing on the cake!”
Massive congratulations to you both, and the legend that is Rebel Kicks!
