Moralee Herefords are proud to be sponsors of Team UK- Hereford World Conference 2025 and Di Harrison recently wrote this fabulous biography piece.
Wishing Iona, Cara, Emma, Will and Ethan the very best of luck out in the USA at the World Conference next month.
Moralee Herefords is a pedigree Hereford cattle herd established in 2011 by husband and wife team Tom and Di Harrison. They are based on 250 acre Eltringham Farm which is located in the Tyne Valley, Stocksfield, Northumberland. The name "Moralee" comes from Di’s maiden name and the name of the farm High Moralee where her parents farmed a well respected beef and sheep herd until the late 1990s.
The Harrisons started the herd as a hobby, looking for an easily managed breed that would fit with their busy work lives. They began with a small number of foundation females purchased from the Romany, Mallowburn, Richmount and Coley herds. Now they are running the herd with around 30 breeding females and have recently introduced horned genetics into the herd following the purchase of Auckvale Curly 1831S in 2020.

Over the years, Moralee Herefords has gained a reputation for breeding high-quality cattle, which has led to numerous successes in the show ring and at sales. Their herd has been named the National Hereford Show Herd of the Year 3 times (2019, 2023 and 2024), and they have won various championships and awards with individual cattle, including their prominent bull, Moralee 1 Rebel Kicks sired by Danish bull SMH Kingsize.
“Rebel” dominated the show ring with major championships in 2019 and after covid in 2021 where he also saw Interbreed success. He also made a return to the show ring in 2024 as a 6 year old mature bull where he was Interbreed and Champion of Champions winner at Northumberland County Show the local show for the Harrison’s.
In 2021 Rebel was also Hereford Breeder Champion of Europe which saw Tom and Di travel to Texas, USA to collect his prize. It was here that Ohio based breeder Shawn Stevens purchased the rights to sell Rebel Kicks semen in North America. The bull now has his own website and calves on the ground in the USA.

This year Rebel Kicks progeny has been centre stage for the Harrisons with 3 year old female Moralee 1 Pippa RK281 winning supreme breed championships at Northumberland, Royal Highland and Great Yorkshire. Also his son Moralee 1 Big Time RK349 has won an array of Championships this year including Royal Highland Junior, Male and Reserve Supreme. Also Great Yorkshire Male Champion and Interbreed Pairs Champion with stable mate Moralee 1 Baz. Just this week the 17 month old was tapped out as Male Champion at the National Poll Show - which was won by Rebel Kicks in 2019. Big Time then went a step further and was awarded Reserve Supreme Champion. The Harrison’s best ever result at the National Poll Show.
Other home bred cattle that have won major awards or performed well in the marketplace include -
Moralee 1 Kylie KS S11 - Champion of Europe 2024
Moralee 1 RHS Prince - Sire of the Year 2024
Moralee Curly CI288 - Horned Female of the Year 2023 & 2024
Moralee 1 Katy Perry PR301 - Sold for 11,000 guineas. 2023 Designer Genes Sale at 7 months old.

Tom and Di are passionate about the breed and are constantly looking to improve quality so that Herefords can compete against other breeds in the market and the show ring. Flushing the best of their female lines (Kylie, Pippa and Curly) has been key to this as well as being selective about the bulls that make the grade. They welcome visitors to view and purchase cattle at home on the farm, but regularly sell bulls and females in the marketplace including Stirling, Shrewsbury and Carlisle.
In addition to their show and sale success, the Harrisons also sell prime Hereford beef directly to customers through a "Beef Box" scheme, which has become a significant part of their business.

They are long time supporters of UK Hereford Youth.
Previously donating a heifer to raise funds for travel bursaries and most recently hosting a training weekend for the team heading
to the USA.
They wish Iona, Will, Emma, Cara and Ethan the very best of luck in Kansas.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to Tom and Di for their incredible generosity and unwavering support, not only for the UK Team but also for the Hereford breed as a whole.
