First of all we must apologise for the lack of seasons greetings from Moralee...Di went down with shingles a couple of days before Christmas so it's been shingle all the way not jingle all the way here over the last week. Not a nice illness and the champagne we were so looking forward to has had to remain on ice! But hopefully tomorrow we will raise a glass to 2025 and to a healthy start to 2026!
2025 - It's been one hell of a year! Where to start - Moralee 1 Big Time RK349 - multiple Male Championships, Interbreed Pairs Championship with Moralee 1 Baz at the Great Yorkshire, Reserve Supreme at the National Poll Show, Polled Bull of the Year and then a new British and European selling price record for a Hereford bull of 22,000 Guineas at Designer Genes. He has given us some of our proudest moments so far as Hereford breeders. Best of luck to Spartan Herefords where the Big Time story is sure to continue.
The emergence of 3 year old Moralee 1 Pippa RK281 winning Northumberland, Royal Highland and Great Yorkshire Supreme Championships has been a highlight. Following in the footsteps of her dam Coley 1 Pippa 356 and sire Moralee 1 Rebel Kicks. Her calf at foot Moralee 1 Pippa TE401 also had a great year and calf show season, and is a great prospect for the future.
Our new horned stock bull Bawnlea Fighter Fury had a fantastic show season and topped it off winning Horned Bull of the Year. We're so excited about his first calves arriving on the ground.
Di travelled to Texas last January to collect the award for Moralee 1 Kylie KS S3 winning Hereford Breeder Champion of Europe. This cow continues to breed well with an exciting December born heifer calf at foot.
The autumn saw Moralee 1 Clint PA381 come into the limelight. Winning the Supreme Hereford Championship at the English Winter Fair National Calf Show. He sells at Stirling Bull Sales at the start of February 2026.
Of course it's not all been highs there are always lows in farming. This autumn did not come without its challenges and heartbreak which made us question why we do it. But we love our cattle, it's our life and passion and it gets us all over the world and we have so many fantastic like minded cattle loving friends. That's why we do it!
Thank you to our team and show family home and away that get us through the year. Our girls Cerys Mai Jenkins and Hetty Hutchinson, the continued support of Team Keadyview Steven O'kane and not forgetting Mathew Henson and Dad Arnold Harrison at home - thank you all.
And thank you to everyone else that played a part in team Moralee this year. Teams and dreams work best together
Wishing all of our family, customers, suppliers, friends, acquaintances from all over the country and world a happy, healthy and prosperous 2026.
The adventure starts again at Stirling bull sales in just over a months time where we have one bull and two heifers for sale.
...far too many fantastic memories of 2025!
