A SHOW TO REMEMBER

One week on here is a round up of our full results!

It's just over a year since Moralee 1 Rebel Kicks KS R12 had his show finale at Northumberland County Show where he was Champion of Champions, and 4 years since his Royal Highland Supreme Hereford and Native Interbreed Championships.

Roll forward 4 years and 2 of his progeny stepped into the limelight winning both SUPREME HEREFORD CHAMPION and RESERVE CHAMPION.

3 year-old heifer Moralee 1 Pippa RK281 with 3 month old calf at foot Moralee 1 Pippa TE401 (sired by Dendor 1 Tecwyn) worked their way through the rounds in the breed classes - Cow Class winner, Female Champion and Supreme Hereford Champion.

Following in the footsteps of both her sire and dam - Rebel Kicks in 2021 and our Coley 1 Pippa 356 was Supreme Hereford Champion in 2017.

It was only the second ever outing for the cow and calf pairing after winning Supreme Hereford Champion at Northumberland County Show last month.

Gliding around the ring they also caught the eye of the judge in the Interbreed where they received a top 5 tap forward. A result we were delighted with.

A Rebel Kicks son Moralee 1 Big Time RK349 also stepped up to the mark, first of all taking 1st place in a class of 9 young bulls.

ree

He was then tapped out a further four times - Junior Male Champion, Overall Junior Champion, Male Champion and Reserve Champion. Quite a collection of awards for this eye catching young bull also at his second show ever!

ree

His dam is no stranger to breeding success - Moralee 1 Kylie - also dam of 2024 Miss Europe Moralee 1 Kylie KS S3 and many more show and sale toppers. He turned heads again in the Junior Interbreed, although maybe a little starstruck by the big occasion he also received an excellent top 5 tap forward.

The rest of the team had top placings in their respective classes. Moralee 1 Kylie PR294 won her Senior Heifer Class and Moralee 1 Kylie DC314 was 2nd in the Middle Heifer Class - which meant 3 Moralee females were forward in the Female Championship line up.

ree

National Poll Show Junior Male Champion Moralee 1 Baz KS315 made a return to the ring being placed 2nd in the Middle Bull Class - he also took his place in the Male Championship line up.

ree

Big Time teamed up with Baz to win the Pairs Class, with the two Kylie heifers in 2nd.

On Friday and Saturday we had the honour of representing the Hereford breed in the Interbreed Group classes with Kylie PR294, Kylie DC314 and Baz. Thank you so much to judge Andrew Hughes from Coley Herefords for recognising the quality of our cattle both on show day and when selecting the teams.

As you can imagine the champagne corks were popped, the bar bill was big and celebrations were had! We are both overwhelmed by our achievement and we were so proud of our line of cattle. None of this would have happened without the awesome team helping us Cerys Mai Jenkins, Hetty Hutchinson and also Maddie Clarke who did an amazing job behind the scenes preparing the cattle. Steve and Sean for getting us there !

At home thanks to Dad Arnold Harrison Mathew Henson and Katie for getting the silage done - great job! Finally many thanks to the Scottish Hereford Breeders Association for the usual warm welcome and the Royal Highland Show stewards and officials.

Photos by MacGregor Photography - amazing as ever - thank you all.
