REBEL KICKS DAUGHTER TAKES TOP HONOURS AT NORTHUMBERLAND

On a day where we saw entries impacted by the Blue Tongue Restriction uncertainty and arrival of the first rain in months - it certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of team Moralee!
A team of 9 including 6 debutants getting introduced to show life.
Most surprisingly our 3 year old cow Moralee 1 Pippa RK281 was on her first ever show outing - but she did not disappoint taking it in her stride to be awarded Female Champion and Supreme Hereford Champion.
She is a daughter of Rebel Kicks who was Champion of Champions here last year, and her dam is our Coley 1 Pippa 356 - breed champion here twice in 2017, 2018 and Royal Highland Show champion in 2017.
Her calf at foot is 9 week old Moralee 1 Pippa TE401 - a diva of a calf sired by Dendor 1 Tecwyn. She caught judge Matt Gray’s eye as soon as she entered the ring. Also winning the Heifer born after 1/5/24 class beating much older competition, and then beating off more quality heifers to be tapped out as Reserve Female behind her mother! What a start to her show career.
Senior bull Bawnlea Fighter Fury continued his success from Devon last week picking up a second Male Championship and Reserve Breed Champion. In Reserve Male spot was a young bull making his show debut - March 2024 born Moralee 1 Big Time RK349. Sired by Rebel Kicks and dam Moralee 1 Kylie (breed champion here in 2016).
Interbreed success came our way when we represented the Hereford breed in the Group of 3 Interbreed. Pippa RK281, Fighter Fury and Senior heifer Moralee 1 Kylie PR294 were tapped out as Reserve Champions.
A day to be proud of at our local show. Thank you as always to the hard working officials and stewards at Northumberland, a great show with some difficult circumstances to deal with this year.
