Events in the sale ring were not our only news from Shrewsbury at the weekend. Whilst our little Katy Perry was doing the business in the sale ring, her siblings were flying the flag in the show ring in the HCBA CHRISTMAS CALF SHOW 2023
Her paternal sister Moralee 1 Kylie PR294 was our star of the day. In a hard fought January heifer class which saw her swap places twice with the eventual show champion - Kylie took 2nd place. Then in the Junior Female Championship she followed through the class winner to be awarded Reserve Junior Female Champion. Congratulations to Midford Herefords William Awan on winning this Junior Female Championship and then going on to become Supreme Show Champion - a lovely heifer - we can’t wait to see these two battling again in the show ring next year!
She is yet another progeny of herd matriarch Moralee 1 Kylie who has produced a string of champions for us. She is sired by a home bred bull Moralee 1 RHS Prince, (sire of our £11K Katy Perry) - who has certainly backed up his £85 per straw semen price from the Designer Genes on Ice sale the evening before.
